New Idea for long lasting wax application

Ok, My Idea won't make your car look good, but I think it may last super long

Apply the wax as usual, but don't remove the haze.
is this a bad move?
would it bond permanently to the paint?

Why on earth would you want to do that? Part of the reason we polish and wax is to make the vehicle look good. By your own admission this would not be pretty. As for any added protection - consider how easily a wax haze can be removed and I think you'll see there is no benefit to doing this.

And did I mention..........ugly???

You would probably end up with more problems in the long run. When the wax gets warm debris sticking to it. Now how are you going to remove it ? without giving your paint anew set of swirls. So this way you would never have to wash your car again.?

Plus like Mike said, it would look ugly. lol

A friend did that, drove around with it, looked like he washed car with milk as it was white hazy....took him 3days and professional detailer to remove all, as it dried hard as paint almost .....he didnt do it again

Mike once said that any 'haze' that you remove is just extra wax that didnt bond to the paint. This is the reason that you want to apply a nice, even, thin coat of wax since using more is just a waste. It also makes it harder to remove.

So in short, leaving the haze on the paint probably wont do anything other than cause a hassle when you want to remove it.

NEVER NEVER leave the extra wax (haze) on more than says 24hours....

Real hard lession learned i.e. I tech waxed (NTX v1) my sister car one day and leave it to cure but somehow sis took the car out to fill up petrol under hot sun (just after 4hrs cure time and with haze still on the car). The car was just a bit bigger than Smart but it took me another 5hours to remove the excess wax after the wax virtually baked and sticked to surface under the heat!!! Morever I have to wash the car prior to removing the haze as the car got sand sticked to the uncured haze whilst she was out and about.

I heard if you cover your entire car with duct tape, the finish will remain in perfect condition...until you decide to remove the tape.

I dont know why but I always come across cars like that here.
The whole car wearing unwiped waxed and drives around town.

That is very very interesting observation TimG! I did the car waxing back in Malaysia as well!!!

Mike may need to comment on this....

Malaysia generally has temperature somewhere in the range of 23 - 31 Celsius (not F). When I applied the NTX v1.0 on my sis brand new car, the wax seems to just hazed ALMOST immediately and dried within a few minutes. And this was done under the shade in the early morning (rainy/Monsoon session, so it was cooler than normal day, like 23 C).
I either applied the wax a little too much or it just that NTX v1.0 was not designed to operate at Tropical temperature like in Malaysia?
Yeap, I saw quite a few cars back there with wax/haze still on the car driving around...it could be some kind of paint job but I don't know.
