Itching for spring, I went out this evening and bought the system -- Scratch X, Deep Crystal Polish, and NXT 2.0. My paint is black, on a 2-year-old minivan that's garaged, with paint in excellent condition except for a few very light swirl marks here and there (I'm not sure what caused them). My plan is to apply Scratch X, then Deep Crystal, then NXT 2.0 by hand, doing the whole vehicle. However, here's my question: Will applying the polish truly make a difference in the quality of the finish, or should I save the effort and go directly from Scratch X to NXT 2.0? Thanks.

Re: Will Polishing Make a Difference?
Without a doubt do the polishing step. You really won't believe the difference it will make, especially on your black paint. Your black paint will look darker, richer, and deeper by applying polish to it. Post pictures when your done.

Re: Will Polishing Make a Difference?
Polishing is definately recommended. But it all comes down to how you maintain your vehicles paint. If you havent polished it in awhile, then maybe it is about time. But if the paint looks good in your eyes, then skip the polish. Take pictures of the before and after and post them.

Re: Will Polishing Make a Difference?
It's certainly worth doing a test spot to see if you like what the polish does for your finish. If you don't notice any improvement then there's no need to do the whole vehicle......but I think you'll see a nice darkening of the finish.
The good thing is applying and removing a pure polish by hand isn't terribly difficult, especially compared to using ScratchX!!Michael Stoops
