  • Help! Buying a g110!

I'm a rookie, and have only been out working my car a few times. Due to the poor weather I have never been able to finish all the work I want. I have purchased a space heater and plan to work in the garage now!

I'm ready to make the plunge and purchase a g110. I recieved 75 bucks to ADS for Christmas, and its been burning a hole in my pocket.

    What do I need?

Here is the link to the ADS specials on the g110... help me choose folks!!!

Thinking of going with the cheapest option

    1 Meguiar's G110 Polisher (1 Year Warranty)
    1 Meguiar's W67DA Velcro Backing Plate.
    1 Meguiar's W8006 Foam Polishing Pad
    1 Meguiar's M9910 Ultimate Microfiber Wipe
    Internet Special

    and also purchasing...

    6 back bundle (1 7006, 3 8006, and 2 9006)
    2 pack of microfiber bonnets
    beloved 80 & 83
handful of goodies such as microfibers (I only have one good one, rest are cheap)

Anything glaringly missing for work via machine?

Looks like a good plan to me.

I think the video is well worth the money. I bought the video before I had a DA and after watching the video I had the confidence to order the G100. I was able to get good results right away.

Looks good. Remember the 7006 pad is just for use with the bonnets. Might get a 6-pack of the bonnets.

You can probably go with more #80 and less #83 depending on how much of the chemicals you plan to buy at first, if you are just doing your car.

Congrats on your G110 purchase!! I recently bought a G100 and it was one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Looks like you've got a good starting point, although you'll find yourself buying more pads later on so that you can experiment with all the new products you'll be buying. I'd recommend getting a 6-pack of the MF bonnets; you'll find that you use them a lot and it's nice to have some in the cupboard in case you drop one or if a bonnet gets filled with product. I'd also highly recommend the instructional DVD. It gives you a big head start and teaches you numerous techniques of how to properly work with the DA.

Have fun with your new toy!!

Thanks a million everyone. I'm also a newbie just trying to get started. I've made notes on all the goodies I need to buy. I'm waivering between the PC and the G110 only because of price and availability. Does anyone have any HUGE reason NOT to go with the PC? $50 difference in price will buy a lot of product?

                Thanks all!

                  Husker 71,

Yeah I got a reason not to buy a Porter Cable versus the Meguiar 110.
The Porter Cable 7424 is an old model of Meguiars. the Meguiar 110 has 4.2 amps, the Porter Cable 3.7 amps. M 110 has 6th speed of 6700 OPM, the Porter Cable 6,000 OPM. basically the Meguiars is a newer model with better specs.

I just received my new G110 to replace the G100 I have been using for 5 years. The difference is AMAZING! The G110 and #80 were able to remove micromarring in one session - I have been fighting these for years with the G100. More power = better results in a shorter time.

Without a doubt, the G110 is the best investment I have made in detailing equipment.

I bought the PC7424 before the G220 came out, no regrets or problems but being over in the uk its a 110v and i need a transformer, this guide should give u plenty of infomations its a brilliant guide and there will also be some videos on youtube out there to help show the machine in action.

                      Hope this helps
