Awhile back (2 weeks ago) I did a 3 step process on my 1978 Caprice Classic Landau, turned out nice but I think it could use a little more.

the steps I did were:

1. Washed Vehicle, just with water, it was just a little bit dusty.
2. Clayed entire car
3. Deep Crystal #1
4. Deep Crystal #2
5. #20 Polymer Sealant, then waited over night then reapplied
6. Waited a week then applied #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax

That's all I did.

It looked great but the oxidation in some places was still there

Now I've seen other threads what have the single stage paint and I have seen people using Color X on it.

Will color X get out ALL of the oxidation? it's not to bad, just it's awkward to get out and when you look at it in the sun and if the sun is hitting on it in the right spot it looks faded and water spots and swirly!

I was thinking this may work better?

1. Wash vehicle
2. Color X
3. 2 coats of Polymer Sealant
4. 1-2 coats of Hi-Tech Yellow Wax

Also will any of these products get the swirls out? or will I need #9?

Nice Ride! I'm a big fan fan of those early to late 70's luxo cruisers, lol (no pun indented) What's under the hood of that thing? 305/307, 350? mind me asking.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to try colorx on a basecoat car like that. ColorX has some mild cleaners, not sure about abrasives to help remove oxidation and small microscratches.

It's a 305 for now, but I have a 454 what I'm working on, just taking my time though, doesn't need to be thrown in right away. , I want it done right the first time!.

I'm gonna give the Color X a try will it for sure get the oxidation out? because all those other products I tried on it got some of it out but not all, will the Color X over power all of those products?

What can I top it with, and will I need to clay the surface again even though I just did that and all the other products two weeks ago?

I'm sure I have more questions but I'll leave it at that for now. Thanks.

If ColorX isn't strong enough, then I would try Medallion Paint Cleaner.
