  • Question about Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner

My wheels have clear coat and last time I waxed (a month ago), I went ahead and waxed the wheels (used NXT 2.0). My question is whether the Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner will strip/remove the wax from the wheel.

    Thanks in advance.

Yup. It is meant to strip away brake dust from the wheel, so it is certainly aggressive enough to strip off the wax.

I'm not sure but I think they are saying that it will strip the wax.

I hardly ever use a rim cleaner for this reason. If you wash your wheels on a weekly bases a good car wash will work just fine. I usually make up a bucket with DC soap and do the wheels+fender wells first, then use another bucket to wash the paint.

I like to do the wheels first so the paint isnt drying while Im doing them.

You may want to look into different types of brake pads. I personally use ceramic pads so I have no dust what so ever. I believe metallic pads are also low dusting. Different types of pads may make more noise and such though.
