  • Infrared Thermometer while Buffing - With adjustable emissivity?

As the title implies I am looking to get me no contact (infrared) thermometer so I can be aware of temperature paint reached while buffing. I am looking at pocket models. Only pocket model I know that had adjustable emmisivity (Extech IR205) has been discontinued while ago. All other pocket models I know of have fixed emmissivity.

To those with experience and knowledge on the subject: For what I have in mind does lack of adjustable emmissivity mater and why / why not?

    Thank you in advance!

I have one on the end of my arm. If I can't keep my palm on the surface of the paint for 2- 3 seconds then it is too hot to buff. If your heating up the paint excessively while buffing your doing it wrong.
