  • Prescriptions for Silver Color

My car is a 2003 model and silver color (not dirty at all, I wash every 2 weeks).

Can somebody provides me the best prescriptions for detailing the exterior surface?

So far, I have found that NXT & Color X can bring out the true and rich color for dark color cars.

    Thanks.

    Hey,

Try one of my favorite combos for bright silver:

    Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze + #81 Hand Polish + NXT x 2 = WOW!!!

This combo really brings out the silver!!!

      Thanks,

Unfortunately, these products are hardly found in this Country unless order from on-line. However, shipping and custom taxes are really expensive to me. I would probably come to the States and buy them during Christmas.

Check this link below and you know why Canada do not encourage people to D.I.Y.:

        Hey,

Actually, I live in BC. So I understand your concerns. However, Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze and the #81 Hand Polish should not be too difficult to locate. Check your local NAPA or other Automotive Body Shop Supply Stores. As for NXT, well that is another story. While some stores are starting to carry it, it is difficult to find. An alternative that I have used for years and still love is using Meg's #20 Polymer Sealant topped with #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax. Again, these are both available in Canada.

Canadain Tire is not one of my favourite stores!

Yes, I have seen #20 & #26 sitting in some retailer stores. However, I did not know NAPA can get the Meguiar products. BTW, Canadian Tire is only good for browsing if you have nothing to do at home.

I have a 2004 CLK and it's silver. As compared to a black car, the detailing job is way easier. All the imperfections are so obvious in a black car.

For a silver car, it's not easy to see the differences between a good or so-so detailing jobs.

I use Meguiars products and I do the 4-step treatment (wash-clean-polish-wax) just because I know it's good for t he paint in a long run . By the way, I will add the clay step in my next detailing job.

#83 followed by NXT x 2 worked great on my wife's silver 2002 Tacoma. I didn't feel that I needed to use #82 or #81 after the #83. (It was swirled enough that I needed to use the #83.)

Please, anyone from Canada (Toronto area) knows where I can get a #83 in the retailer shops or detailing supply shops?

I just want to buy it locally instead on-line. I know #83 is a great stuff.

                  C32 AMG,

I gave you this info in one of my posts, maybe you didn't see it! I don't know where you can buy this that is super close to you, but the info below will get you started!

I bought my PC 7424 at of all places...Canadian Tire!

It was in the Auto Care Products Aisle!

Be warned..it's not cheap in CDN Dollars....Cost me $305.87 Taxes Included in that price!

Oh...but is is sooooo worth it!

It came with a Polishing Pad and the #5 counterbalance weight!

Then I contacted Premium Auto Care (Online) and bought the Meg's Pad kit (MEG-FPAK) which came with a velcro backing plate, and 1 Maroon Cutting Pad, 1 Yellow Polishing Pad, and 1 Finishing Pad!

Of course...I now buy the pad's and products through Meguiar's Canada at 1-800-278-4559

You could get a PC through them as well! Not sure of the price?? Model # is G-100

                  They are located at:

                  6175 Danville Road
                  Mississauga, On
                  L5T 2H7

Ask for Jennifer! She will be glad to help you!
My Dad said once..."Son...you can never do enough for a good customer!" I Said "Don't worry Dad...I won't"!

I treat NXT is a sealant instead of wax. Because, they can bond the polished surface.

                        Hi there,
Do you mind telling me that which CT did you get your Porter Cable. I've been checking many CT both in Scar., Pickering, Whitby and Oshawa but none of them carry Porter Cable at all.
                        Cheers

Check with Meguiar Canada and order the Meguiar G-100 with pads (they have a good deal). If you order this package, the polisher costs only $225. BUT, you must order the polishing pads as well.

I have just ordered the polisher, pads, NXT and #83 from Jennifer. You just pay the costs of the stuff and 15% taxes ONLY.

If you don't want to pick up the order in their office - Mississauga, you can pay $15 for the delivery. For you living in Whitby, I suggest you pay the delivery due to the traffic and location.

I ordered my stuff on Thursday (30/7/04). I will receive them on Wednesday (4/8/2004).

If you decide not to buy from Meguiar's Canada, then go to the CT where I bought mine!

Any specific reason(s) that make you regret getting it from CT??
I'm actually planning to order it through www.carcaresmart.com since the PC is on promotion now, costs 198.5 and free shipping.
I simply just want to check it out before placing my order.
