  • Portable Generator, water tanks

I have been looking at Honda's generators, small portable ones...know bit costlier than the bigger ones.

Also water tanks, what does e1 use ? I plan on getting distilled delivered to me and store in a 500 gallon tank in garage and refill my tank from it.

    Any other thoughts, feel free.....

I have all Honda equipment. I have a Honda generator I have owned for over 12 years and we dog it out! Still going strong!

Also buy the tank you will need to meet your needs. We use a 90 gal that we need to refill sometimes.

I use DI water and carry a DI tank on board my van.

Is it true that water coming out of air conditioners is distilled ?

              Thanks

Di water is made from ordinary tap water by using de-ionizing water purification equipment. That equipment can be as small enough to fit in the palm of your hand or as large as a factory, depending on how much water you need to produce.

The equipment isn’t exactly cheap to buy or operate, so you need to compare the cost of buying it, verses, renting it, verses buying water from somebody who already has it.

Some detailing product suppliers install systems and/or large holding tank in their shops and will sell you DI water by the gallon. Industrial water companies can deliver it by the tanker truck load, sell you the gear to make it yourself or rent you tanks to make your own. There are small, consumer oriented products available that cost less to buy initially but have very small capacity and cost more per gallon produced.

Sort of. Yes, it’s true that the water condensing onto the coils of your A/C is distilled. By definition, water condensing from vapor is distilled. But whatever dirt is in the A/C system when the water condenses will instantly contaminate the water.

So unless the inside of you A/C system is extremely clean you’ll end up with distilled-then-contaminated water.

So you guys who are mobile detailers, you purchase or filter water and bring your own DI water and use that to wash with?

Are there in-line filters I can use at home with my garden hose?

I got a filter setup from: CLICK

I ended up with a 1Micron carbon filter and a water softening filter. Works out great.

I also have a Honda 1000watt generator that I use for camping and such, I love the thing.

Im not a mobile detailer, just a weekend warrior.

Thanks! I picked up one of the water softeners. My black truck really likes to show off water spots.
