I've had mine for about one year I guess, don't really recall but I always have great results with it

Just to keep in mind, my drying method is very effective when your car is waxed constantly, I just take the water nozzle off and let water glide through the surface of the car, just leaves some spots of water and with my water magnet I just absorb the residue.

I think Mike aka Mike-in-Orange does the same thing.

For me and not just detailing, I decided to get a water softener installed since we had hard water. The villian for all fabrics (natural and artifical like MF) is harsh detergents. Tide cleans great but it is strong stuff. They have added components to combat water hardness, brighteners. etc.

Just like car care in general as Mike has taught us, use the least agressive method possible. I have started to switch to Woolite and added a whole house water softener since we have hard water. Woolite is more of a pure soap and supposedly cleaning rinsing (why some want to use vinegar to get rid of the detergents).

I can say if you use a washer to do your MF towels and if you use a bleach or softener in the wash before or a fabric softener in the dry before this can affect your towels.
There is residue in the system or in the dryer walls that can transfer. I discovered our washer flushes the detergent, bleach, and softener compartments in EVERY wash with water to move these into the washer section so you could residue. I do not know how much but I noticed the possible issue.

this is totally the best way to get rid of excess water and it also cuts down your drying time!
