  • Preparing for my first full detail

Things are coming together and I'm pumped! I'm ready to buy my first machine, and have $75 to ADS sitting on my desk. I've been doing a lot of stuff by hand, but havn't delved into any machine work what so ever.

This is what I'm working with. (err... why is this so small?)

(Think its 1024x768, and might be auto downsizing... cool feature if it is... anways here is a larger image from my gallery http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/pho...php/photo/5891)

Products on the box are spare, and will come out to play another day... although the 2.0 may get to cheat a bit on that one. I have a 3rd bottle of all wheel cleaner and consumer level clay bar kit coming from meguiars.com. (backorder and faulty replacement... was all handled excellent btw)

Not shown are a few cheap terry cloths (they shead badly), 3 micro fibers, a detailing stick, and wash materials (1 bucket no guard, GC shampoo, and a brush, and a mitt)

Products from other companies are placed to the left. RainX has given me great results, armor all hasn't been used in two years, carnuba mothers wax came as a free sample with the clay and will likely never be used. Nano protectant was suggested by the local pep boys (had no clue how to treat my top) and have yet to use it. This same establishment had all three of their on staff workers tell me that there was no other top than vynal in existence. If anyone has a review on nano-protectant let me know.

    ANYWAYS

I'm looking at purchasing a G110, 80, 83, and 7 at least. Wanting a wheel well brush, and bucket with guard as well. What other products might help me out?

I'll document my process and post it up once the time comes. Photo quality will be better as well.

PS: Anyone with experiance of changing out soft tops please PM me if they have a chance. I'd like to replace the cloth and rubber weather stripping touching the windows.

Meguiars has canvas products in their Marine Line.

There was never a dedicated wheel well brush from Meguiars, but a large poofy toilet brush, or a brush with a wire core you can bend to shape work also.

There are always more and more products to try....
