okay so today it is 50 degrees out but its still winter and all winter i have been washing at the local coinop wash and inducing swirl marks in my 05 300 now i just had a few q's about winter time care for ya

would it be safe to go to the wash spot rinse off any loose dirt then wash then bring home dry, wipe down with QD then wax i mean thats all i can really do in the winter i guess

then when the beautiful berkshire spring comes im going to get a PC and some 80 and 83 and get all the swirls out and WELL I JUST CANT WAIT

sorry if this post didnt make sense im just excited about gettin all my swirls out !!:

Thats what I do, I use Color X and then put a coat of 26 over that. Color X or the Mirror Glaze upgrade is #66 with some slight cleaning capabilities. Then inbetween waxing, UQD which seems to boost the wax quite a bit.

Yea With Cool Vanilla Its Really Not All That Beneficial For Me To Use Color X Though Dont You Think I Mean Unless It Will Give Me More Gloss But The 10 Min Later It Will Look Like bad Again Anyway Cause It's Winter So

It's more of the 4th and 5th step process,protect-maintain. We know that our cars will look like ick during the winter just don't want to clean a swirled up mess in the spring. I'm using ColorX right now to keep the swirls at a minimum from using the coinop as my hoses are frozen at the moment and I wash the second it quits snowing/raining.

yep. I need to learn the PC better. I hope to make an open garage this year, hopefully early spring or sooner.

Re: cnt wait man i just cant wait!!

I sometimes have to wash and the coin-op, but I still bring my two buckets and use my own soap and such. I find this helps cut down dramatically on the swirls from the beginning of the winter to spring. I justify it as well I still have to feed the machine twice and use your water to initally rinse and do a final rinse, so it anyone would question me that is my excuse for the ready.

Also, I like to wait a day or two after it stops snowing for the roads to become dry and a little less salty, therefore my wash might last a few days longer. Just a thought.

Re: cnt wait man i just cant wait!!

I should have been clearer, if I know I'm going to go to a coin-op I will make a fire in our wood burning stove in our garage to keep it around 80 degreesfor most of the night. I will then either do a complete wash with drying at the coin-op or I will wash at the coin-op then dry in the garage (only about a mile away). I will then wait for the frozen stuff, if any, to unfreeze so I can dry it.

Also, I almost like to wash it when it's colder because the roads will stay dryer, plus most people aren't washing their cars at the coin-op either.
