  • UQD over NXT 2, any benefit?

Is there any benefit , or downside, to using UQD over NXT 2? This is after 2 thin coats of nxt that have both cured 12+hours. would topping with UQD just be a waste of time and product or would it add anything to the finish?

I would think that it would prolong the durability and appearance of NXT... at least to some extent. I know in the short time I've used NXT 2.0 and UQD, they seem to be working great together. I sure like the way they look!

Edit... IMHO, the UQD adds a little "POP" to the finish... but not a lot.
You'll have to decide if it's worth the time and money.

Good question since off the cuff one would think after wiping off the last application of wax the paint should be at maximum potential.

While they are both using components of our new technology, do keep in mind they are still very different products as in one is a paint protectant and the other is a quick detailer.

Outside of asking one of the chemists that worked on these formulas for their thoughts on this, the next best thing to do would be a side-by-side test on a single stage black finish or a clearcoated black finish.

Besides all that, remember that this product is brand new, very few people have used it for very long to be real familiar with including yours truly.

Good points as usual Mike. In my experience with UQD, I use it to extend and enhance NXT 2.0's properties by quick detailing anything unwanted that make their way on my finish, and finding that after a few days, a once over the whole car with UQD leaves it equivalent to washing and waxing with the old NXT. It pop and pools with a deep wet look. An amazing post-LSP and quick restoring product. I can't use anything else!

thanks for the replies. This side-by side will be easy as this is on my black clearcoat C6. to me it is all about the final look, the time and cost are really not a factor now that I think about it

Pardon my newbieness, so the UQD can be used in between washes on the whole car? I'm assuming the car would have at the very least a layer of dust on it, or possibly worse. How would one use the UQD and avoid scratching/swirling?

This is exactly what a Quick Detailer is for. In between washes. For LIGHT dust, bird bombs, or spotting from sprinklers. (not rain or road film)

My neighbors that often see me out with a spray bottle have asked me what it is. The first thing I say is "This is not car wash in a bottle"

It is a good daily maintenance/keep the shine product. If you have dried and set road film, either wash the car, or live with the dirt until you can properly wash with car soap.

Apply liberally, and light wipe any dust or small spot (blot things like bird bombs) use several properly laundered MF towels. Do one panel or section at a time for the whole car. Use one towel to spread and first dry surface, a second towel to finish dry. Change towel sides often.

Any of the quik detailers are great daily maintenance on your waxed vehicles.
