As I can't find a specific forum that refers to aircraft, this seemed as good a place to post as anywhere else.

Most aircraft detailers I know use a rotary tool and wool pad to machine buff paint (not the same a waxing) which Meg's product would be best? #66 was mentioned to me, but I am wondering if #6 is less aggressive. People I have talked to use a glaze type product. I'm not sure if posting a link to the company I have my current supplies from is ok, so I won't unless a moderator gives me the all clear.

This is strictly for paint on metal not canvas on wood! Aircraft use urethane paints.

I also know there is a fear of burning though the paint on the rivets, which seems to come from not changing out the pad often enough.

(IMO) airplane waxes are more durable .!!!
I have#6 and used it frequently. but #66 is ''MUCH'' better it's cleaning properties make work easier...

As for the rivets go slow and avoid to much pressure ...
I know wool pads cut extremely well, so a polishing pad may be best bet

Why would you want to go through the hassle of doing multi steps ..?
I'd use #6 if you want the best of both worlds (polish/ cleaner/wax)
        Enjoy..!!!!

I wouldn't want to do multiple steps if I could avoid it. Seems that using a DA with a foam polishing pad would be the way to go with either #66 or #06 if I read it correctly. From talking to other aircraft detailers, seems the paint has to be way gone before it needs more than just waxing.

For just waxing, I'll have to see what #21 2.0 is like. Anyone have any idea when it will be available?

Exactly, just because most people do it one way doesn't mean its the best way.

At least 2008 isn't far off.

I'll be detailing a Piper PA 80 in the spring, along with the owner's Mini Cooper!

I'll be using the PC with #83, followed by #9 , #3 and #21 as the lsp.

Aerocleanse... How did you determine the cost of detailing aircraft do you do it by the linear foot (length of fuselage + height of empennage + wingspan?)

                    Re: Aircraft

I found a nice aircraft detailing manual that has a price list in it. I hope posting the link doesn't violate some rule, but here goes:
