I have a 2006 mustang gt with tan interior. It is always getting dirty. Sometimes when I get in and out of the car my shoe sometimes hits the door sill plastic or the plastic on the door. All this plastic is tan in color and it is a sort of textured plastic. So all the dirt gets into these little grooves. It is super hard to get dirt, grime, grease, etc.. off this plastic. Ive tried simple green, goof off, towels, tooth brushes. The goof off and the tooth brush work best but I cant get it all off. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Interior Detailing
If we are talking scuff marks, I remember reading a long time ago when the original v bulletin was the forum the following. Use the "Mr. Clean Magic Auto Eraser" to remove scuff marks. I have purchased a couple of the erasers but I have not had to use them. Maybe try this in a out of the way spot and see if this helps. Good luck.quality creates its own demand

Re: Interior Detailing
I think what he is talking about is the textured plastic is dirty, not on the surface but below the surface in the tiny grooves of the plastic. Hope I explained that good, it's kinda hard to explain.
I'm interested in this as well, my 95 Mustang has the same problem.Daily Driver - 1990 Mustang LX - 5.0L

Re: Interior Detailing
We bought a '94 Mustange GT Convertible from the auction last spring for a project car. The tan interior looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years...we had to strip everything out and replace the carpet it was so bad. It made it easy to clean all those plastic parts and I experimented with a couple of different things. What worked best for me in this extreme case was "Kaboom" , along a scumbuster brush and a kitchen scotchbrite sponge (the least abrasive kind safe for nonstick cookware) Do not let the Kaboom dry on the plastic, rinse throroughly with clean water. It was an amazing transformation, I just forgot to take pictures.

Re: Interior Detailing
Shoe scuffs- I second the Magic Eraser. Don't give it a lot of pressure, just enough.
Dirt in that pain-in-the-butt-to-clean Ford texture- Any kind of APC diluted for heavy duty use and a stiff scrub brush (much better than a toothbrush) should do the trick. If not, sounds like southpactire has the right idea, a degreaser.

Re: Interior Detailing
Yea is the shoe scuffs that is hard to get out and its in the tiny grooves. I have tried the Mr. Clean magic eraser and it helped alittle but did not get all out. I might try that kaboom or even the magic eraser with goof off. That might do the trick. Eventually I am going to jsut replace my tan interior with black interior. Tan was a bad choice. Well I didnt really have a choice at the time so now I just have to deal wiht it. Thanks everyone.

I also have good luck with a stiff brush and an APC.
