  • Waxed my car and now its raining...

    Hello

I know this is a meguiars forum but i just wanted comformation of sorts...

I detailed my car and finished it this morning...i coated with a sealant (non megs)...and its cure time is 24 hrs...it began raining lightly a few hrs later and has continued throughout the day...

So does this mean that b/c the wax didn't cure i now need to wax my car again?

    Thanks....

I assume it is just a regular sealant/wax like any company makes. As long as it sat for a few hours, you'll be fine. You might not get 100% of the looks, but even after 20 minutes or so, you get a good 90% of it.

Same thing happened to me last night. Put down my first coat of NXT2.0 and then it rained around 3hours later.

I would say youre fine. Ive read rumors on detailing forums that a good cold rain actually helps the wax cure but idk if there is any truth to that.

As long as it wasn't monsoon rains, I wouldnt worry with it.

I posted the same question when I started detailing (no need to link it, the answers are here).

Having water get on the surface is different that using soap and water and rubbing on the surface before the full cure has taken place.
