  • Does anyone use feather dusters on their cars?

Here in North Carolina, we're having a drought. I've had a black Chrysler 300 Hemi-C for a year, and the car grows more beautiful every day, but it shows dust so quickly.

Thanks to the excellent Meguiar products, and the things I've learned reading these forums, I've been keeping the paint in good condition.

About a month ago, I tried dusting the car with a feather duster. I felt a little stupid out in the driveway, dusting my car with a feather duster, but the duster is gentle enough I don't think I hurt the paint. (Even if I am ruining my image in the neighborhood.) It sure is quick.

    Has anyone else tried this?

The best thing to do would be to use some sort of spray detailer and a soft microfiber towel. I would suggest using these:
    Ultimate Quik Detailer®
    ---OR---
Last Touch Spray Detailer with a Supreme Shine® Microfiber Towel.

    Hope that helps...

Besides regularily using last touch or the uqd, If I am pressed for time I will take out the body duster and give my vehicle a quick dusting. I have not noticed any scratching from using it. It may restore your image in the neighborhood. lol

          Hello paulethan,

It is common practice to use them here in Mauritius.I do so as well on my dark blue Clio,it avoids getting the wash arsenal out.I spend a lot of time detailing my car. people around tell me :again ! I just say that i like protecting my investments

I use a duster designed for cars. Since Meguiar's doesn't make them anymore, I would recommend the one made by Oxo. I have never scratched paint with them, and I have used them on black cars where one would notice any little scratch. I move the duster lightly over the surface to get off the majority of the dust, and follow up with the Ultimate Quik Detailer and a good MF towel like the Supreme Shine that Meguiar's sells.
