Megs recommends that one does not wash them. Let them dry and brush off the excess.

You should get one pad for each product, but if you have to use the same one, you could wash it out in the sink with some Dawn soap.

WARNING: The velcro on the back may come off. I personally have not had this happen, but it can.

            You mean these pads?

Throw them in the washing machine with your microfiber towels.

If youve used them to apply wax and such to the paint, then yea, its ok to just throw them in the washer. I found those little things work out great to apply shine to all interior surfaces. Ive never been able to get a good uniform look on the inside of my Jeep and these have solved my problem. When using chemicals like you would use on the interior, I find that Dawn Direct Foam brings all the protectant out of the pad..

I found the two packs on sale at walmart for $1 so I bought 6 packs or so..

I use the pads for the same thing, they work very well for it.

+1 on the Dawn Direct Foam! That stuff works wonders with a small brush.

As for the pads at Wal-Mart, they clearanced all the Meguiars 2 pack pads they had for $0.50, and well...I have lots now

um, looks like a couple of foam pads were thrown in the washing machine. Soap and stain remover was used. They look slightly darker in colour now and feel slightly softer now. Anyone know if they are still good to use?

I have only found one thing that will remove NXT, that is Dawn Power disolver, its $3 for a bottle at Walmart (near the dish soap). Most other stuff can be cleaned using diluted APC and rinsing in the sink.

My experience with #21 Synthetic Sealant is that Dawn and hot water will not break it down. You're better off squeezing out the applicator and/or pad and storing it in a bag to keep the dust off of it. I put both my hand applicator and a finishing pad together in a bag.

I did the same with my Cleaner Wax pad/applicator, although the Dawn would probably break that down somewhat better.

The polishes (#5, #80 and #83) seem to wash out easily -- pads or applicators. I've been doing those by hand in the laundry sink in my workshop. I've still labeled the pads by product, but could probably get away with sharing the polishing pads, with a wash in between uses.

I wouldn't use stain remover, no need for it. I imagine the color would be from the stain remover, laundry soap wouldn't change the color. Just to be safe, I would wash them again with just the soap.

Thanks for that roushstage2. I was washing microfiber towels and water magnets along with the foam pads. The reason stain remover was used is because, as well as Meguiars microfiber towels, I added some very dirty non-Meguiars microfiber cloths to the load. I didn't think it would be a problem.

I wash my Meguairs products each in their own load with Woolite, then everything else in another load using regular soap.

If the other towels are very dirty, stuff may get into your good ones and make them unusable (maybe not unusable, but maybe unsafe) to use on the paint. That is how I see it, not sure about how others do, but to each his own.
