  • Scratches & Swirls

In fact I have a 2007 white Merc, my car was subjected to some sever conditions like paint dust and then some unprofessional waxing, where few brand names like 3m and zeibart were involved.

The paint dust has vanished and the car became so shiny and soft, but If I look at it from a close angle under direct sunlight I can see swirls and scratches and this really annoyed me.

Finally and just 2 weeks back I decided to try Meguiars so I sent it to one detailing shop that uses meguiars products, I felt some kind of improvement and that made me trust the name. Today I have almost full set of Meguiars products (Deep Crystal Paint cleaner, Deep Crystal System Polish,NXT Technical Wax, & Quick detailer)

I'm using the quick detailer to clean the contamination after every wash with Meguairs Shampoo. As you may know we have so many dust storms and hot weather here in Qatar that requires such a thorough frequent service.

    My questions:

I still can see swirls and fine sctratches specially on the roof and bonet, is there any Meguiars product that can solve this problem once and forever?

Deep Crystal system polish is specially formulated for dark coloured cars can I use it on my white car?

NXT Technical wax can be applied on my car every week or would it make any harm to the paint?

Quick detailer should be added to clean body only? or can it be applied to a dusty body as well? Can it be used frequently or is it harmful?

I'm not quiet sure what are the black shiny side pillars between the front and rear windows on E class Mercades are made from (maybe plastic?) and I wonder if someone knows? I have some wash swirls and fine scratches on these black dividers. Last night I treated these black window dividers (Pillars between the FT&RR side windows) with the aforementioned paint cleaner, polish, and wax now they look much better but I can still see the fine sctracthes, is their any better way to completely or at least 90% remove them?

My last question, If I want to become your local exclusive distributer in Qatar and Jordan, what are the proceedures?

    Thanks alot in advance.

with the swirls im in the same position, to get rid of them properly you need a rotary buffer (experience required) or random orbital sander with a cutting pad, and #80 speed glaze (ive never used it but i gets good reviews) or #9 swirl remover. the deep crystal system will work on any colour but, as with most polishes and waxes, the gloss and reflections are most noticeable on dark colours. NXT can be applied weekly if you really want but it isnt necessary, if youre in a really harsh environment i think monthly applications would be enough. quik detailer can be used frequently, and can be used on glass and brightwork if you want, but youre better off using specific products for each area. another thing you may want to look into with contaminants etc. is a clay bar, or detailing clay. you can use quik detailer as a lubricant, and wipe off the residue with a terry towel or microfibre cloth. this will pull all the embedded dirt and contaminants out of the clear coat and leave the paint smooth, to give a better base for polishing and waxing. as for the distributor, i have absolutely no idea, i dont work for meguiars, although i wish i did!

Almost that ozSS said is correct.

For removing the swirls, it really depends on how deep they are. If they are really deep, then yes a rotary would be required. But, if they are light, ScratchX by hand would work really well. I'd try that first.

Well, you did the right thing and you've started out pretty well. The DC series and NXT wax is very nice.

      Good Luck!!!
