  • #7 And #26 Products

I have been using the #7 glaze and finishing with the #26 wax on my 2000 black boxster.
Would the clay , polish and NXT wax treatments give better results?
I apply the products by hand.
    Thanks,
    JDBOXSTER

Here's what I do on my Black Truck with great results.

      Wash
      Clay
      Wash
      #80 Polish
#7 Show Car Glaze (After initial wipedown, I go back over it with the PC and a microfiber bonnet, speed setting 4.5-5)
      #21 Sealer
      #21 Sealer
      #26
And finish off with Final Inspection QD

Clay and a cleaner/polish will certainly step things up noticeably. The clay will remove bonded surface contaminants and the cleaner/polish will remove, or at the very least minimize (you're doing this by hand!!!), the swirls. Doing both steps helps to properly prepare the surface for the wax. The flatter and glossier you can get the surface, the better the final outcome will be.

Without hesitation I say do it!!!

You might need to be using a paint claner as well. Deep Crystal #1 would be a nice gentle cleaner to use.

Swing past autopia.com and check out the article by Mike Phillips about "Lessons from White Paint". It is a good article, and kind of talks about how your paint can get dirty, and lose some shine, etc, without you ever knowing it, and the importance of using a paint cleaner.

#7 followed by (2) coats of #26 are my favorite. Just make sure you paint is as smooth and clean as possible. Clay if needed and use a cleaner or even better, #80. What is the condition of the paint?
