I washed my truck last weekend the same way I always do. To help judge what I did wrong, I'll go through step by step how I wash and dry it. First I got out the microfiber wash mitt ( the new kind with the dangly microfiber things which could be the problem i'm thinking) Then I dumped Meguiar's NXT wash in a bucket and filled it with water and another bucket with just water for rinsing. Then I hosed the truck down and started scrubbing after a good rinsing. I moved the mitt in a side to side motion from top to bottom avoiding circular motions. Every time I washed a section (approx. 4' X 4') I rinsed the put the mitt in the rinse bucket and rinsed afterwards too. Once I was done washing, I used a Water blade to remove most of the water and used 4 or 5 microfiber cloths to get what was left. Are these techniques outdated now, or did I just do something wrong? I took extreme care to ensure there wasn't any debris on any of the microfiber, but my main concern is the new mitt. let me know what you pros think! Thanks for any advice!

Re: Swirls after washing
After thinking more about it, I might not have taken as much care in staying in straight motions during the drying as i did during the washing...guess it's better I perfect after the first couple times then after the first couple dozens. Shouldn't be anything a little polish and wax won't hurt i hope

Re: Swirls after washing
I would throw the califorina blade in the garage, if you want my honest opinion. I like squeezing some of the water out of the mitt before wiping the are to ensure there is a LOT of lubrication on the paint.Let's make all of the cars shiny!

Re: Swirls after washing
Yeah, I usually try to hose the car down immediately before drying as to ensure no water spots and a little extra lubrication to help eliminate scratching. Guess I'll try using the old microfiber sponge and just using my leaf blower from now on and see how that works. Thanks a lot for the experienced tips!
