  • Couple questions on inter details and leather

    1. What is the best product to clean the clear instrument panel parts? I was using Interior Detailer and got some on the radio display. It did not seem to do any harm and cleaned up nicely with a MF towel.

To keep Interior Detailer from getting on leather seats, glass surfaces, etc., I assume you can spray on MF towel first and wipe. Then use dry towel to remove.

I am not looking for an "coatings" that change gloss, etc so no "protection" like ArmorAll. I just want to remove dirt, dust, pollen, etc. It seemed to work as expected.

    2. I noticed there are combo clean/conditioner products for leather and as well as separate cleaner and conditioner products. Ford sent me a samples of a separate product. Is the combo stuff more regular use (when washing car) with the separate for periodic use (like every 6 months)?

Sounds like you have it figured out. The QID is safe for leather, plastic, etc, so a little overspray isnt a big deal, just wipe it off.

And yes, much like cleaner/waxes, cleaner/conditioners are meant for quicker use, but might not clean as deeply as two seperate products would.

They also make a spray for even quicker cleaning/conditionings. Depending on how soiled your surfaces get, that might be good for use with weekly washings as well.

      Thanks.

I am still researching for the best wax. There seems to be a lot of different opinions out there.

I am looking for something that is durable, protects the paint, decent finish, does not stratch/haze or affect plastic (I am sloppy).

I like #21 Synthetic Sealant, but it is meant to be kept off of that gray/black platic and rubber.
