  • #9 swirl remover

I"m curious from all you experts if the #9 swirl remover 2.0 will take away the swirl marks in my clear coat from the power polisher? The car was painted September 06.Of course the parts store guy told me it will work great but I see different reviews on this product from the forums here.Any help would be appreciated or should I just go ahead and try it?
    Thanks

74novass if you don't mind me adding to your question, for the weekend detailer is there a difference between #9 and #82, and if so what is it?

      Re: #9 swirl remover

I tried #80 with a LC light cutting pad on my orbital. Worked great but still had a few very slight swirls remaining on the hood. You could only see them in full direct sunlight. I followed that with the #9 on a white LC pad and I couldn't really see that it was doing anything. I had to go back to the orange LC light cutting pad to apply the #9 and even then it was only making a small impact on the remaining swirls. Don't get me wrong. #9 definately has it's place. It's an extremely safe product. It seems to have a very low abrassivness but lots of polishing oils which makes it great for minimising very light swirls and bringing up a nice gloss. I have a feeling that it may be better suited for use with a rotary and polishing pad to achieve swirl free and hologram free finishes. Then again, I could be wrong and just need more practice with it. Put it this way; after washing, clay, #80, #9, DC2 polish, Wet-look sealant; I feel that I could have left out the #9 all together and achieved the same result.
