I noticed a scrap on the front fender of my 2007 Carbon Gray Pearl Acura TSX today. So, I grabbed a microfiber towel and some Meguiars Scratch X and went at it. After 1 application, the scratch was visibily gone. However, after a closer inspection, I can still see the scratch. The scratch appears to almost be filled in, but you can still see the outline of it. Am I doing something wrong? I used about 4 applications of the Scratch X, and I can't get rid of the scratch outline. It appears that it filled it in, but didn't remove the actual scratch. I am hopefully getting my DA Polisher this week (ordered it the end of last week), and I am not sure if I need something like that to permanently remove the scratch. Can anyone recommend something to use with the DA to get rid of it? It's obviously not super deep if the Scratch X by hand filled it in..

Now I don't think ScratchX will fill scratches, don't quote me on that but I have never head of it doing so maybe someone else will chime in on that. More than likely what you are doing is 'rounding' the edges of the scratch, making the scratch less noticeable.Brandon

If the product is just filling things in, it sounds like you arent really working it into the paint. It is not a wipe on-wipe off product, it actualy needs worked into and against the paint to remove a bit of paint from around the scratch.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
