  • New to detailing....couple of questions.

Hey im new to detailing and I have a couple of questions. When polishing/waxing a car, is it better to apply and remove it with a pc? Can you apply the polish/wax with a pc then remove it by hand or do you apply it by hand and then remove it with a pc? Is there gonna be any difference in results if you apply and remove it with the pc? Any kind of help would be appreciated.

You apply cleaners/polishes/waxes with a PC using a Softbuff Foam Polishing Pad for cleaners, cleaner polishes and cleaner waxes and you use a Softbuff Foam Finishing Pad for pure polishes and pure waxes. You can then remove any of the products with a PC using a bonnet over a Softbuff Foam Cutting Pad. But... most remove cleaners and cleaner polishes by hand with a quality microfiber towel (Supreme Shine Microfiber (Three Pack)) then remove waxes with the bonnet pad combo.

Yes, applying products with a PC will give you better results and in my eyes you get better results when removing a wax with your PC. Does that help?

      its all personal perference.

some say that because when removing wax with a PC of the time it takes to switch the pad, put the bonnet on etc... that you're just wasting time and makes the process longer.

while others say, they enjoy the PC removal process.

      its all personal perference.

one thing I LOVE the PC for is removing wax or sealants...SO much easier on the ol' arms...slap a bonnet on a 7006 pad and you're on your way...wouldn't do it any other way...I still enjoy applying by hand but sometimes I'll use the PC to apply as well...
