  • Rust on chrome

    Hi y'all,
A friend of mine wants me to shine up some of the chrome on her BMW R1200C. Some of it has some rust spots on it, and I was wondering if it would help anything to use 0000 steel wool on it? I know it would make it look better temporarily, but would it just rust again after a little while? Would it help to use NXT metal polysh afterwards, and maybe a coat of wax also? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Re: Rust on chrome

are you goingo to work on wheels or on the chromed wheels or on the chrome plated plastic parts?

i think NXT polysh will make the job by itself, but maybe you can use the "use the least aggressive method possible." It will also depend on how much rust has accumulated.

so start up with NXT metal polysh, and if that doesn't do the job, use the steel wool reels.

    Hope This Helps.

Lydia , i would go and get some eagleone neverdull...and then top it will a lsp....i find it does a great job of taking off surface rust and defects from all kinds of metals ,including chrome..Once you try it you will be hooked on the results and how easy it is to use...goodluck and let us know how you made out .
