Shallow Scratch help for a newbie

It's been years since I had the money to buy car with a paint job worth worrying about. Last week I got a great deal on a silver '99 E320 wagon with 49k, driven by some old man. Overall beautiful paint job, a few wear scratches at the door handles etc. I get home today and find scratches that look like someone tried to key it in the parking deck, but fortunately not deeply. Hopefully just on the clear coat.

Where do I begin? Scratch X? Clay?

And how should I finish.

Pictures would certainly help. Nonetheless, you will want to start by cleaning and claying the area and then working with the least aggressive product, ScratchX.

Thanks for your quick response, and tip links.

Yes I am working by hand. I bought some ScrathX this weekend and gave one spot a quick go after washing the car. I saw a slight reduction in the scratches but I figure I've got some more elbow grease to put into it to see some real results.
