  • Car Care Steps

I am completely new to this. I recently purchased a new Silver 07 Camry and now I need to wash and protect the paint. Can anyone clarify the steps to take in doing so?

1 - Deep Crystal Car Wash
    2 - Clay
3 - Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
    4 - Deep Crystal Polish
    5 - Wax

Are these the correct steps to take? Or do I have them in the wrong order?

And after using the MicroFiber cloth to wash and dry my car, do I throw it away? Or can I save it for the next time I wash my car?

    Thanks

first of all .second of all, you got it in the right order!!!, except you are missing a step, maintain. good job And after you use a microfiber cloth you dont throw it away, you just wash it very well in hot water, and air dry or tumble dry low.

      Steps look good.

Remember to wash using two buckets, and try and get a Grit Guard or two. autodetailingsolutions.com sells them.

You want to use a high quality washmitt or sponge to wash the car. Then dry with your drying towel, I like the Water Magnets. Then apply your products with foam applicator pads, and remove excess product using either terry cloth or microfiber towels.

After you are done, you can soak the applicator pads in water+Dawn for a few hours, then rinse and ring out. Your washmit and terry cloth can be washed together, and your microfiber towels can be washed together.

I like to buy some cheaper cloths for greasy areas, so I dont use my good ones on the visible painted areas.

        Thanks for the replies guys.

        But why use two buckets?
and whats in the Maintenance step?

The grit guard looks interesting...i'm going to look more into it.

        Thanks.

Using two buckets keeps your soapy water clean, while your rinse water bucket collects all the sand and grit, so it isnt wiped back across your paint.

Maintenance can be a few things. It would include using a Quick Wax after washing to get back a fresh waxed shine, or a Quick Detailer could also be used after washing for some shine. Quick Detailer can also be used to remove fingerprints, smudges, bird ****, hard water spots, etc, safely from the paint before it creates any damage.
