  • New car - but still have to detail! Help?

I`m not all new, but new at doin`it properly

I have quit a fresh car, it`s about 1,5 months old, the color on it deep gray or anthrazit, dependig on how you classify it!

Anyway, even if it`s new, it still needs to bee washed and detailed. I need help to set up what kinda products that I should use and how I should do it
Mostly exterior trimming, but I also need to clean the inside though. I have all natural letter seats, so you know
    So:
    1. What kinda products is necessary
    2. What kinda accessories
    3. How should it be done

It should look nicer than my neighbours car (relative......), and look like it`s ready for a top notch car show

    Appreciate any good help

    Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle

    Step 1 Wash

    Step 2 Clean

    Step 3 Polish

    Step 4 Protect

    Step 5 Maintain

Suggested Products for Taking Care of a New Car

Assuming you are working by hand, you can use those basic products to take care of your paint.

For the black/gray plastic trim you can use something like this:

    NEW Exterior Trim Detailer

    Gold Class Trim Detailer

With new leather, you shouldnt need anything too strong:

Gold Class Leather Cleaner & Conditioner

    Then for interior plastic:

    NXT Generation Tech Protectant

For the leather and plastic, apply the product, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then buff off with a clean cloth.

I`m confused, do you have to use quick detailer after waxing??

Does any of these products mentioned need the use for a polishing machine? In case, which one is recommended? Is it necessary to spend 500 bucks?

None of the products mentioned need a machine.

I can post some machine links if you like, but it sounds like you are in Europe, so you will have to get some advice from our European members on what machines are good.

Quick Detailer is for removing light dust in between waxing, removing bird droppings, etc, and can be used after washing to get back a fresh shine.

          Ahh, I see
I thought it was too rough, but now I understand.....I think
Between waxes, I use quick detailer and at last a nice layer of spray wax?!

Quick wax is just for after washing.... it gives a fresh waxed look, and gives a litte wax protection.

So you would use either Quick Wax or Quick Detailer after washing.

And then Quick Detailer for the other things metnioned above.

Here it`s not advisable using any paint cleaning without washing, with all the dust and mud we`re drivin`it we just have to wash the car......
              .....if I understood you correct?

Yes. A Quick Detailer is for light dust. Once you are driving around on the highways for a bit, getting al lthe daily grime, you are probably past light dust, and washing would be safer.

And you would certainly want to wash before detailing. Think of it this way:

                1. Wash - Removes the loose dirt, grime from the car.

                2. Clay - Removes the really bonded on dirt that is stuck on the surface of the paint.

                3. Clean - Removes the dirt stuck in the pores of the paint, and can remove swirls with the right product.

                4. Polish - Adds oils to the paint to create a higher gloss finish, etc.

                5. Wax - Adds a protective layer to seal in the results as long as possible, depending on your environment.

[FONT=Arial][COLOR=#0000ff]a detailer buddy of mine recommended showstopperwax products.
                    Anybody heard of them?
They have retail store and sell products online.

We didnt really get into removing swirls, but if your car has none, then yes, you'll be all set.

You'll have the paint done, interior, trim. You'll have to pick up a tire cleaner and /or shine product if you want them, and glass cleaner.

The car has a minimum of swirls, it`s limited how much you can get in 6 weeks
