Re: Natural Sea Sponge ok to use?
If Autogeek says it's safe for paint then trust them and test it out.
Wash your car with something that you already have and have been using to get your paint clean.
Now inspect the paint in good lighting and even take a picture to document the current condition of the paint. (any swirls or scratches)
Next take and wet the sponge with water and your favorite car wash and wash a small section about a foot square and then rinse and dry.
Now inspect again and see if the area looks the same or worse and make up your own mind.
The way we would test a product would be to polish a section of your black paint till it's flawless to start with and then document that and then test the sponge, that way you can start with a clear coat finish that is scratch free and any new scratches will show up easily.
To be honest, most clear coat paints are so scratch-sensitive that no matter what you use to wash, dry, apply products and wipe off products has to be of such a high quality and used with the utmost care or you will instill swirls and scratches.
This isn't Autogeek's fault just like it's not Meguiar's fault, it's the nature of clear coat paints, actually all paint it's just clear coat paints reveal swirls and scratches to your eyes more easily.
Test and verify then make your own judgment.
