  • ScratchX (One more Question)

I was thinking about this today...and it seems like a logical question. Is scratchX actually repairing the damage done or is it masking the problem? The only reason why I ask this is because im considering doing parts of the car since this stuff needs to be worked in. I am wondering if I let like a few days go by between sections im gonna have to do it over again.

Ive done a few spots already in on my mangled black paint job from off-roading and its working wonders. The difference is amazing and is bringing the finish back to fairly new.

    Re: ScratchX (One more Question)

If you haven't seen them here are a couple good links, note the title 'Remove', ScratchX is actually removing the defects... You have to work the product in and it takes time and effort, during this process you are removing the scratches/defects.

One more thing... After using ScratchX don't for get to apply a wax to protect the surface, ScratchX doesn't contain any protection.

          Re: ScratchX (One more Question)

Just to add on, if you used ScratchX properly to remove the defect as the links show, and find swirls coming back, then it is time to look at how you are washing, drying, and anything else that is coming in contact with the paint, and could be causing the swirls.

Naturaly, off-roading would be a prime cause.... so it is up to you if you want to fix the swirls every time.

Believe it or not, i dont have too much of a problem with swirls on the paint. I clayed it about 6 months ago and did the entire 5 step detail the day before I took it off-roading, thinking it would add SOME protection, but the trees did not make that possible. The only thing im really dealing with are the scratches. But last night i did the roof that is visible to the eye and it worked amazing. Im waiting on my g100 to arive today...i think thats going to help a lot more than trying to do this by hand.
