I was thinking about using #40 instead of natural shine. Is #40 too aggressive to use frequently? does #40 provide as much shine and protection as natural shine? And how else are #40 and natural shine different?

Re: Questions about #40
#40 is cleaner/conditioner. less aggressive then M39 and i'd say if i'm corret more aggressive than Natural shine b/c one's a cleaner and one is just a protectant.
Natural Shine i a vinyl and rubber protectant.
see the difference.
they both have UV protection. in terms of shine I know with natural shine the more coats you apply the greater the shine. for M40 i think it'll work the same way.
you can use M40 for the interiors but when you have to clean it i think its best. but when you need to dress and protect i use Natural shine.
m40 is big for rubber and other parts of trim that you might get wax on.
that's my take.

id like to think nothing since they're not acidic or anything like that and hopefully so but who knows.

Re: Questions about #40
I have used #40 for a couple of decades and never had any problems. It is truely an excellent product. I have never had any issues when #40 came in contact with other surfaces.-Bob

No worries...
If it does, simply wipe it off using a microfiber cloth

Re: Questions about #40
I recently used #40 for the first time. I'm was pleased with the results on exterior rubber and vinyl as well as interior dash, door panels, etc.
Apply evenly--in good light-- and let it penetrate for a few minutes. I wanted the matte finish and, per the directions, wiped it down after 10 minutes with a MF towel. On my first attempt I did not have good enough light and didn't get it applied evenly. Simply recoating void areas, letting it stand for 10 minutes, and wiping with the MF towel did the trick.
If you want the shine then either don't wipe or wipe with a less absorbent towel. The MF towel will definitely deliver a matte finish.
I subsequently used the Quik Interior Detailer for the adjacent plastics and it seemed to remove any #40 I might have gotten on the plastic.

Just to note, M40 has been around for over 25 years, not always, but often times, (at least in the detailing world), when a products been around this long that's because it has a strong following of satisfied customers.

All Meguiar's Consumer vinyl dressings contain the appropriate amount of UV protection for their intended use, our chemists take into consideration the needs of the surface and the wants of the consumer when formulating a product. M40 also contains the appropriate amount UV protection.

M39 is a cleaner only, so it cannot really be compared to protectants. It's not a matter of whether M40 is more aggressive in it's cleaning ability or not when compared to M39, (it's not), because they are two completely different products. M39 is a dedicated cleaner for vinyl, plastic and rubber.
M40 and Natural Shine, as well as most of the rest of the vinyl dressings in our Consumer Line are all Cleaner, Condition, Protectant type products, that is they clean, condition and protect in on application.

Natural Shine is supposed to restore richness of color and restore the natural shine your vinyl had to start with, that is if your vinyl was matte to start with it will be matte after applying this product, if your vinyl had a shine to start with it will have a shine after applying this product.Brandon
