  • #26 Drying time

I recently topped an NXT coated black car with a thin layer of #26 about a day after the original NXT treatment. I fully buffed and the car look magical. I returned in about an hour and noticed in the sun that there was a sort of haze. I cleaned off the haze with some more buffing and QD. What did I do wrong? Too short or too long of a drying time?
I sometimes judge people by the cleanliness of their car.

How long did you buff in the #26, and at what speed?

Acutally the #26 was done by hand. Removal was done with a terry cloth and an Ultimate wipe. (Pads are coming in the mail)

Meguiar's #26 needs time to set-up before removal. One way to check to see if it ready to be removed is to do the swipe test. Take your finger and gently swipe it over the residue. If the residue removes easily without smearing etc. then it is time to remove it. I have found that the time required for it to haze/set-up takes anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes depending on humidity, temperature et al. Most of the time, it should be ready to be removed in 10-15 minutes.

        Cheers!

I don't know if it will help in your case or not, but I seem to get better results with waxes that are machine applied. I get better, more uniform coverage with less streaking, than by hand application alone.
