  • Porter Cable - White Pad...

    Hi all,

The Porter Cabe came with a white pad.

    Is it any good?

What can it be used for? Cut? Polish? Wax?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi SergioRZ,

I have never used one, but I have read a lot of opinion by others that have, for the most part people say it's not a very good foam pad for polishing.

Check into getting Meguiar's foam pad kit with a Velcro backing pad. Meguiar's yellow W-8006 foam polishing pads are very versatile and delver excellent results consistently.

mosca had the great idea to use it for a backing pad for the ultimate bonnet so I tried it and it works great. fits the bonnet alittle better than the megs pads do and you don't waste the pad.

        Hey,

I used mine for polishing glass. Otherwise, stick with the Meg's pads.

I should of stated that I would not use it for paint.

I used mine as as a pad for the Ultimate Bonnets as well!

I did use it twice whilst using a cleaner wax on a junkie car and it actually performed pretty good in that role/circumstance, but I would never use it for polishing something nice!

              huummmm I have an idea

How about using the white pad to apply PlastX on the headlights?

Do you think it could work ok?

                Hey,

I would not use it for that either. I normally use a W-9006 Finishing Pad as I want the least aggressive pad possible when doing plastic lights. Otherwise, you may get hairline scratches.
