  • Clay bar problems

Okay let me preface this by saying the product i used was a gift and i;m 100% a meguiars fan.

3 days ago i recieved a mother clay bar kit with a clay bar and instant detailer. The clay bar worked well, however the instant detailer left streaks. I thought it was just leftover clay and i proceeded to coat the car with DC2. This took care of the streaking or so i thought. Yesterday i applied some isntant detailer to the car expecting a great shine and what i got was a streakey hazy mess. why is this , i used a microfiber cloth.

    Mabey mothers is just ****,

    Re: Clay bar problems

I have used Mother Clay/Detailer kit, used it once when it was the only thing I could find and I needed some clay right then. I didn't have any problems with the clay and QD combo I did not attempt to remove the excess detailer alone instead I washed the vehicle a second time. I never did use the Mothers detailer alone so I can't comment on it directly.

IMO Meguiars Quik Detailer is an excellent product that works time and time again never a problem!

Hmm.... I have used the Mothers product in the past and never had an issue either. However I washed a second time as well.

          What are you working on?

Maybe the paint needs a good cleaning, not washing but after washing take and clean the paint with something like ScratchX or Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner.

          Or machine clean.
