  • Need some advice for G100

I know there is a G100 thread, but since im new to the Forum, i thought i would drop my question here. I recently took my Land Rover off-roading and ofcourse the trail was much tighter than I wanted. I have like little tiny scratchs in the paint from the twigs and branches.

I want to get the G100, but im a little confused on what pads to use with what products. I will mostly wash, clay, use ScratchX and then wax it ofcourse. (I think this is the correct products to use) But I would like to know what pads and bonnets to use with what products.... Also, what speeds should the machine be on for each product... but applying and taking it off.

Thanks a million.... hope I gave you enough info.

I did read that... and thats some good information.

But what if I was using ScratchX instead of 83? Does the same process apply?

I'll see if I can dig up the thread. I remember polishing with the g100 and scratch X at Meguiars a few years back. With the g100 I would use a 8006 polishing pad. I don't recall how long it needed to be buffed but I think it broke down very quickly. When going to remove it, give where you polished a blast of quick detailer before you go to wipe the scratch x off. I remember it being somewhat difficult to wipe off after PC use without the blast of quick detailer. You will likely need to go over each section more than once depending on the result you are looking for.

There isn't much as far as paint procedure mentioned. But with exception of the hood which was done by hand, the rest of the car was polished with scratch x and a PC.

This link is a "sticky" posted at the top of the G100 Forum. It lists the pads and speeds for most Meguiar's Products.
