My dad has a standard 1996 Mercedes C200 with the standard alloy wheels and wondering if anything can be applied to them to make them look better.

They look like this (this is not real picture of them)

The wheels on my dads car are spotless clean and look good but just wondering what can be done to them to make them look even better.

They have a clear coat on them I think so not shore if I will be able to get any real big improvement out of them seeing as they look good already but also any type of protection I can put of them to atleast make brake dust harder to stick and bake onto them.

If the wheels are in fact clear coated then not much you can do except the same things you would do for paint, that is wash, clay and wax.

They look like the aluminum has a matte finish under the clear and you can't polish the aluminum up to a high shine without removing the clear layer of paint and now you're talking about lots of money and time.

It would be faster and more time efficient to locate some chrome wheels.

Those wheels are indeed clear coated, so use nothing caustic on them. (ie. acid).

Wash them with some heavily diluted APC and a washmit.

Follow up with some wax to protect the clearcoat.

The wheels on my car a a clear coated alloy as well. After washing, I find that wiping them down with a little Last Touch Detailer makes them look their best. It gets rid of any water spots and leaves a nice slick surface that doesn't attract too many contaminates between washes.
