  • Vinyl top dressing question

We are in the final stages of a complete restoration of a 1977 Ford Maverick. The car has a brand new white vinyl top which at this time has no dressing on it of any kind. I want to keep this top in the best condition possible. Meguiar's has several products for conditioning interior vinyl, but what would be the best product to use on a vinyl top?

My first guess would be #40, Vinyl & Rubber cleaner/conditioner.

That was my first guess as well. I was just wondering what others use on thier vinyl tops and how well the product holds up out in the elements. This is the first car with a vinyl top that we have owned, so I want the best dressing I can get for it.

M40 is a very good product, it's water soluble so it won't hold up forever against rain and washing, the good thing is you can apply it over and over again and each time you do you'll be cleaning, conditioning and protecting, it's called maintenance.

It's the right way to take care of your vinyl top exposed to the elements.
