what can I use to keep semi gloss surfaces looking good?
and, I discovered some overspray on a couple spots of the car, apparently drifted on it from painting my trim pieces. what would I use for this? 1500 grit rubbing compound? scratch X??

A claybar will take care of the overspray problem. That's the original intent of a claybar.

Autozone, Pep Boys type of stores are a good start. You can usualy get either Meguiars brand at them, or Clay Magic is an ok second.

I might try Pep Boys first, at least around here.

I saw the smooth surface clay kit @ autozone. $17 or something

If you don't need the supreme shine MF or the cleaner/wax, the MILD pro-line clay is a better buy (200g vs. 50g)

just buy the kit.

its worth it and it comes with a MF. that's a sweet deal.

that's why i love the clay bar. its a sick piece of the puzzle.

yeah but if you have a supreme shine MF or 2, why not just buy QD and the pro line. does the consumer come with QD, btw?

you can still prepare it just as well, you'll have QD, MF, and the clay. just no cleaner/wax

You really need at least 5 or more MF's to really be at your best, 2 will only cover each wax step at best.
