  • Will Glaze#7 prevent attracting dust?

hello, my detailing step will be as follows,
    1. ColorX
    2. Glaze #7
    3. NXT or Yellow Wax #26

will applying #7 in my detailing procedure prevent or lessen the attraction of dust? b/c i'm constantly using my california duster after my detailing
of only ColorX then NXT Liquid.....

#7 wont do anything to prevent dust. Its basically oils. Because the wax goes on top of the glaze, the glaze would not be able to attract anything except light giving it reflection.

I have heard that NXT attracts dust more than any other megs wax. I use NXT exclusively on my bimmer. I dont have too much experiences with other megs waxes, so i cant offer you much help in comparing.

I don't know if does or not, but for a daily driver you wouldn't leave #7 as your topper anyway since it doesn't last worth a darn unless you lock it down with a wax or sealant. I think the argument about dust issues with #7 is moot.

            Couple of comments...

From experience from doing side-by-side tests of different waxes on the same paint, (otherwise it's not side-by-side ), waxing only test areas about 8-10 inches square so the surrounding paint is bare with no wax protection at all.

From experience... all waxes attracted more dust than the non-waxed areas, yes, even some of the most talked about products in the cyber-world would attract more dust than the naked paint surrounding the test areas. So from experience it's not a problem specific to a specific type or brand of wax, it happened to all of the ones we tested.

            Dust problem can't be fixed.
At least in a way that's feasible. (You could put our car in a "Clean Room", but then you couldn't drive it)

The idea of making an "anti-static" wax is a great idea, the problem is all the dust and other airborne contaminants have their own static charge to deal with, there's now way to remove the static charge out of ever airborne particle.

For what it's worth, wiping a surface with a cloth dampened with water will remove most surface static. Grounding a car while you're working on it also will help.

My car is all shined up and 'pretty', but after one drive it has a very slight dusting from the roads. What is the best way to remove this? Do I need to wash it again, or QD the whole car? Or something else? Feather duster? J/K
              Thanks.
