I have only had my black 2007 Mustang for one month, and already the sprinklers at my apartment have claimed her front bumper. I made a horrible mistake - I did not immediately remove the water spots, instead they were left on for 2 days. The water here in the Texas Panhandle is incredibly hard...not use to it and now I must suffer.
I have come to the conclusion that I need a G-100 to remove these "mineral deposits." I have used Scratch-X by hand, but it is only taking me so far, I think I need the heavy artillery. Besides the water spots and the cobwebs in the clear coat REALLY shine through on my black beauty, and to apply Scratch X to the entire car by hand would be inefficient.
Here is my question...and biggest fear. I am terrified I am going to put swirl marks on my Mustang. I have read the link "How to remove swirls using the G-100 Dual Action polisher." I intend on buying a scale to test how much pressure to apply. It is a brand new car, however the mineral deposits are pretty "tough," so I don't know whether to go with #80 or #83. Keep in mind I will also be using #80 or #83 on the entire car to remove the swirls/cobwebs. I was planning on clay barring it, apply #80 or #83, then waxing using NXT Liquid wax - am I missing anything? I plan on ordering the G-100 in about a month, so I am doing all my homework now.
Pictures will follow of the water spots.
