Re: why is my paint like this
Battle scars...
To be more serious - can you feel them with your finger? Is it scratched in the paint or bonded? Could it be that too much pressure was placed on that one area and when lifted caused the paint to shrink back?
I really don't know - tough to tell.Chris

Re: why is my paint like this
Looks to me like your paint is cracking. My dad has a truck and a car with the same on it. Both vehicles have the cracking on the hood.A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Re: why is my paint like this
Ok yes, those are the pictures,I am alittle suprised to see you got them on there.thanks so much.
Now I can ask my question, this is a 2000 jeep cherokee, I have owned it 3 years. the little white marks look like little cat hairs that are about1/8-1/4 of an inch long.The one who said it looks like stiches was exactly right. Some spots look like stiches while others just look like stray hairs.I tried my DAP with#83,#80,#26.This has had zero effecton the problem.This condition is only on the hood. When I used th DAP it removed all the swirls,and so that part looks great but its just these marks I cant get out.Wax doesnt cover them up. I dont feel them with my finger. please let me know what you think. Thanks RichLast edited by richN; Mar 23, 2007, 07:07 PM.

Re: why is my paint like this
Wow, IMO it looks like a lot of "Crazing"
Check this Site that was posted on the Dutch Meguiar's Forum
Then;
* click on picture "crazing"
* click on "Description" for explanation and steps to undertake.
Also other paint "defects" are pictured here
Let us know if you could fix the problem spots, looks like candidates for wetsanding....Hmmmm....How convenient that is for a well known fellow forum member to explain "How To" do this in your example
Good Luck with it.
Max.Progress is perverting an perfectly good idea!
