My neighbor gave a year old clay bar to me after he saw my new stuff and I told him of my detailing plans this weekend. He said the old clay was used once on his hood and then put in a sandwich bag with some detailer and stored in this basement. Now I would not dare use this stuff on my paint, and it is somewhat harder (looks clean) than my new stuff, but could I soften it up with something and use it for my chrome wheels.? Thanks.

Re: Old Clay Bar
If you have a clay bar that is older and starting to dry out, Meguiar’s recommends replacing the clay. Even on Chrome, use a fresh piece or a piece of clay you know is good. Using old left over clay is not usually a good idea. You just never know if the clay has been dropped or what. Not worth the risk.Ash Erickson
