  • nxt metal polysh

Just tried nxt polysh on my wheels.
Wondering what the black stuff that is formed while rubbing is?

Is all metal polysh abrasive enough to remove minor swirls, if you use "Passion" like with scratchx?

I believe the black stuff is iron that is being pulled out of the metal by the polish. It should just wipe right off and is typical.

Yes it will remove minor defects.

Oxidized aluminum? Are these aluminum wheels?

If they are shallow. Remember to remove a below surface defect you have to remove the material surrounding the defect in order to level the surface. The harder the material you're working on the harder it will be to remove small particles of it, especially by hand.

        Hi:

The black you are seeing is one of two things probably.

If the wheels are not coated then the black is aluminum oxide that you are removing from the surface. This is normal for an uncoated wheel.

If the wheels are coated, clear coat paint, then the black you are seeing is brake dust and dirt, etc coming off the surface.

Most likely it is the aluminum oxide.

You may be able to remove some very minor scratches, etc.

          guess it is qxidation, then.

I only polished the outer rim og this wheel, uncoated aluminum. (i am pretty sure at least)

murr said if I polished on aluminum the applicator would turn black
          great shine anyways!
