it got worse when i tried to work in the paint cleaner with a normal car wash towel.
i learned my lesson and bought a foam applicator pad.

From the picture it looks like you should be able to do it with ScratchX. If your doing it by hand, then it will take multiple applications and lots of effort, but can be done. Make sure to rewax that section when your done. If you can catch your fingernail in the scratch, then you won't be able to get it out but you can make it look better.

Don't be surprised at the amount of "passion" it takes to remove it by hand. Also the number of passes over the area to get your desired results. Lastly if the picture was a indication of the overall condition of the paint, plan on probably using 2 tubes to do your whole car. Good luck.

If the entire car looks like that, my fingers would give out long before I finished the second tube!

Also if you wax it with NXT and do 2 thin coats it will help hide it, it won't actually improve the scratch, but it will help hide the scratch and swirls some.

Or you could just invest in a PC from Meguiars, or even your local hardware store, and do an outstanding job and save your arms. Its not fun to do a whole car that looks like that by hand.

do you have a machine polisher?

i'd go M80 or M83. save you time and work.

then follow with M80 if you use M83 and then NXT x 2 and it'll look sharp.
