hello everyone.. I have two questions to ask.. was wondering if you could help.. first off I was wondering if anyone has used the professional line by hand? I states that it could be applied but was curious if someone has done it? results? I am considering doin the following steps: wash-clay-scratch x-#7-#26 by hand.. the question I have is about the scrath X. I have a few swirls marks on my hood, do I use scratch X jus on hood and go to #7 or do I still have to use a cleaner for the rest of the car?thanks

Re: Professional line products
hi there,
your process is correct.
Wash
Clay
Scratch-X
#7
#26
that is fine. you can apply by hand. I've applied #7 and #26 by hand with no problems. my only concern is this. that if you're going to use scratch-x on the whole car to remove swirls, its going to take you a long time. you need to use a lot of passion when applying scratch-x. not that you won't get the job done, depending on how bad the swirls are, only that its just harder and more tiring doing iti by hand. if you can stretch it out over two days that might be better. but who knows maybe you won't get tired.
you can use it just on the hood if you want, BUT, personally i'd make sure the whole car sees a cleaner.
Meguiar's 5 step process is as follows.
Wash
Clay
Paint Cleaner
Paint Polish
Wax
but in the end its up to you and the results you want to achieve and the amount of time you have to do the job.
so wash you car and then dry her up nicely. clay it. then start using scratch-x in a small section say 12x12 and go panel by panel. see how you feel after one panel, then after two and so on.

Re: Professional line products
to be totally honest with you, i've never used scratch-x on a whole car. that will require to much energy as its very tiring.
your best bet to do here and my honest opinion/thought.
do a test spot. a side by side comparison. on the hood tape off two 12 x 12 squares with about a 2-3 inch gap between the two.
on one side use Wash-Clay-Scratch-#7-#26 and see how it looks. on the other side do Wash-Clay-M80-#26 and see how that looks.
pull it out under some nice sunlight and see the results and pick which one is better. that is your best bet to see what will work and what will not work. and plus this way it'll save you so much time as scratch-x requires plenty of passion, and that's plenty of passion that i don't have to do a whole car with in my opinion.
with M80 you can skip the #7 step as M80 has enough oils in it. BUT if you want to add to the shine, add #7 in there.
let us know how you go.

Re: Professional line products
you must have 1gallon of elbow grease to do the entire car with scratch X. Just for swirl marks it will take about 3repeated process to improve. and in 12x12 it will takes approx. 7-10mins.. it's possible, but you must have passion in it hohoho..
