  • Washing a Micro Fibre Towel

Can anybody tell me what is the best way to wash / clean the micro fibre towel?

How many handwash / machine wash can a Meguiar micro fibre towel can last?

    Thanks.

I wash them with my hands in the bathroom just with a wash conditioner and hot water. Make sure that the water is not over 60 degrees but i think that isn't a problem.
and for the rest i scrub the MF with nothing else as itself... old fashion washing i suppose. and afterall let it dry...

You can wash your mfs in hot water, no worries, in fact, that's what gets out staining. By hand you can wash with a liquid laundry detergent, rinse in cold water and rinse again, with about a teaspoon of vinegar which cleans away residual wax and polish and acts as a natural fabric softener. Same procedure for machine washing.

I've seen the laundry machine at Meguiar's headquarters!

I believe this is the easiest way for me to clean the towel. Can the wax embedded in the towel be able to remove as well?

          Thanks.

Try washing it thoroughly with the laundry detergent, when you rinse, use the white vinegar availible in any grocery store.

Use a liquid clothes detergent free of fabric softener, bleach, fragrance, etc. I use a warm/warm cycle (wash warm/rinse warm). Add distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle (approx. 1 cap per 2 towels). Rinse the towels at least twice. Put the towels in the dryer until damp dry. Hang to completely dry.

Do I really need vinegar to clean the towel? What is its function?

By the way, my wife will not allow me to use the washing machine / dryer to clean any dirty towels.

                    The only alternative...

The only alternative... the trusty washboard and tub...

The vinegar actually helps removes any residue from the barrel of the washer. This is how I convinced my wife. After washing the MF towels, I washed a couple of terry cloth bath towels we have in the "rag bag". I wash these towels the same way I wash the MF towels, including the vinegar in the rinse cycle. I told my wife, "The towels clean barrel and the vinegar helps remove any wax residue." I showed her how sqeaky clean the barrel was after this procedure.

I'm really not sure if this does what I said it does... It made my wife happy enough to allow me to use the washer and dryer for the MF towels. No harm, no foul...

yes most of the time in the hot water the wax will go out of the MF... there is no any wax left behind when i dried it... but i think maybe it is because i use a washing conditioner... well good luck with it.
