    Do not use pure water. There is no lubrication in it. If you wanted to skip the QD/SD, you would need to use soapy water.

    And dont soak the bag with QD to store the clay, just a spray or two.

    Dont get too hung up with the number of passes for each. The Smooth Surface Clay and the Mild clay are both fine, so just get what you can get.

    When you spray the QD on the car, and slide the clay over it, the clay doesnt pick up the lubrication. So you would want to dry it off one way or another before going on to the cleaning step. So most people will dry with the SS towel as they go.
