  • Removing scratches

    Hi,
I plan to remove scratches on my car using #83 with PC. Shoud I use #83 just for the scratch areas and follow up with #80 for the whole car? What is the consequence of using aggressive product ? Because I read " Meguiar always suggest using the less aggresive product first"
    Thanks in advance

    Re: Removing scratches

if you only have few scratches just use Scratch-X.

but using M83 for the whole car will benefit you. its most likely that you may have some swirls and M83 would remove i'd say 95-99% of them.

however, it might be best to do a TEST SPOT first and see if M80 will work on in removing any swirls.

personally if you have a lot of fine scratches and swirls and you do a test spot and M80 doesn't quite cut it i'd do the whole with M83. then follow that with M80. you aren't really going to hurt your vechile by using M83 on the entire car.

there is no real consquence as they are diminishing abrasives. so that means it has to be broken down in order to achieve the best possible results.

      Re: Removing scratches

It took me ~10 hours to finish the first car with one pass of each 83 and 80. For the next car, I'm thinking about cutting down the time by using #83 where it needed only and then #80 for the entire car
      Thanks for your response

        Re: Removing scratches

well if yo're going to just spot detail then try scratch -x and work it in really good. see how that goes for you.

and don't get discouraged, detailing a car properly takes time. 10 hours seems about right depending on paint's condition.
