How do you get wax off??

My friend waxed his 80 something monte carlo but there are white wax swirls on hood and rear deck how do you take those off??

I would begin by washing the car normally (soap, bucket, mitt) and then using a clay bar treament. Dry the car and see the results. If the swirl marks are still there then you may need to polish and wax.

I would look at how you're applying the wax. Clearly, if there is excessive wax and wax build up after removal of the product, you are using too much or the applicator has become saturated and needs to be cleaned. Either way, there is excess and simply using less will help your case.

I would use any quik detailer-like product and a clean towel to remove the excess wax.

Was this was that was dried on from a previous detailer, or Meguiars wax that was just mis-applied today?

I would tend to agree with the suggestion of using some QD. Your choice. then applying a thin coat of wax and see it the results are not more desirable.

Your friend may have applied to much wax on the car. Try applying a thinner coat next time your friend wax the car. I usually just put a quarter size of wax on the applicator and apply it to the paint.
