  • carnuba on top of gc?

Hi, will i get more durability and reppellant finish if i apply Carnuba wax after polish and GC wax?

Does the NXT wax hold better durability thatn GC? How about GC clearcoat wax?

    Best regards,

      ok.
      Previously i`ve used this:

      Emulgating spray
      paint cleaner
      2Xpolish
      2Xgold class

But I`ve read on Meguiar`s site something on that the carnuba is good for sealing the job, kind of like AutoGlyms Polymer Sealant..?

      OT:
Has anyone tried any of Swissol`s products? They`re sure well priced..
Can`t believe that anything is better than Megs, so why would anyone pay upto 10 times the price for a small jar of wax?

Hi Joenok, What color is ur car...? Light color or dark color? Very hard to say which is better Nxt/GC as both are also very good.
I would say both Nxt/GC are quite close.

        I use Swissol Onyx.... TQ.

My car has a real dark Emerald Green paint.
It`s got some swirls after the previous owner, but I

if it has some swirls then you got some work to do.

will you be working by machine or by hand?

Re: carnuba on top of gc?

I don't know if u could see much difference by topping a carnauba on GC. Since GC is already a polymer blended carnauba wax. GC does look very good by itself too. But if u are using Nxt u could top it with a carnauba wax but again I think Nxt looks real good by itself already.

Since u do have some swirls, is it light swirls or deep swirls...? U might be better of using M80/M83 to remove those swirls & polish the paint to a swirls free, super high gloss & maximum shine condition. Then no matter which wax/sealant u apply on the paint, it would look very glossy & shinny. U would need the G-100/PC to do this tho.

If u are thinking of using Swissol (Swissvax), I think its better to use it by itself too.

                in addition,
the fillers in NXT do a pretty good job to hide the very fine scratches

Well, I will not be doing the rubbing myself, I leave that to proffesionals.
The car has mostly light scratches, but also a few deeper ones.
I may have to repaint if the result is not good enough.

Got to have that mirror-effect, -that is why i am here... Thanks guys!

Repainting is a pretty serious step and thousands of $. You might want to post up some photos here of what you refer to as the 'deeper' scratches.

Will take before/after pics when I take the car to the guy who is rubbing it down.
What do I do after he has rubbed down? Do I use Polish and wax or only wax?

I have ordered a bottle of #21 synthetic sealant, will this do the trick?

Depends on what you are trying to achieve. What do you mean by this guy is going to rub it down? Is he going to sand it, polish it, or do the whole lot? I'm not to sure about what you're saying.

                          Me neither
Not so good with the english terms, but he is gonna polish down the clearcoat to remove swirls, oxidation and scratches. I will polish and wax the car myself afterwards.

Guess it is a polish, just a proffesional one.

I have wanted to try the #21 sealant for some time, i just want to know if I should put some DC polish underneath, or just put the sealant on top?

Ok, now I understand. once all the polishing is done you should just need too maintain the paint. Do this by applying a sealant or wax every couple of months. If it is kept out in the weather often then maybe a little more often. I've heard only good things about #21 but havent used it myself. I can personally recommend Wet-look Polymer sealant which I think is quite similar. Maybe twice a year you would want to apply a polish to bring back the shine. Keep a bottle of DC2 polish handy when the shine starts to dull. Make sure you wash with a clean wash mit and not a cheap sponge to minimise the swirls coming back. If you do find swirls coming back I can recommend #9 swirl remover or if it gets bad #80 speed glaze. Do just a little bit extra to maintain and you won't have to work as hard to fix problems when they occur. I hope this helps.
